Claire's Transparent Color Lip Gloss Review

Blog number two, here we go!

Claire's Lipgloss

So recently, I got a pack of Claire's brand lipgloss out of curiousity. If you didn't already know, Claire's is a cosmetics and accessories store that can often be found in malls. The original price was $6.50 USD, but I got it for $3.25 because of a sale. The pack had four lipglosses. One was clear, one was light pink, another was dark pink, and the last was a magenta/purple shade. The tubes were rather square, with clear tubes (rectangular) and a black cap (rectangular) with a lipgloss wand attached to it, of course. The packaging was really clean and attractive, but what matters more is the product inside.

What I like is that the lipglosses all smell amazing. The purplish one smells like grape, the dark pink smells like candy apple, etc. Now every time I apply lipgloss I get a delightful scent! It's really nice that the scent is not overpowering, though, in a way that it makes your head hurt eventually. Also, the gloss isn't sticky, so it doesn't feel gross, and also it has a great shine that doesn't look fake but is still noticeable.

However, the lipglosses do have a few downsides. One is the color. Though the colors are really pretty in the tube, no matter what color you use on your lips, it doesn't show up! All of them are transparent/clear. Also, the shine doesn't last as long as I'd like it to. The lipgloss can also make your lips feel rather dry, so I'd recommend layering it with a quality lip balm underneath.

So bottom line is, I think the lipglosses are okay, but they're not the greatest thing in the world. Even though the scent is amazing and it does have shine, the shine doesn't last long, the colors don't show up, and it can make your lips feel rather dry. If you're not serious about makeup and are looking for a little, fun and transparent gloss set, then you might like this. However, if you're really busy and expect quality performance from your cosmetics, then you are better off buying some professional lip gloss. From a scale of zero (being the absolute worst) to ten (being the most amazing thing), I'd give this a 5.5.

Feel free to post comments below! :) If there's a beauty product that you'd like me to try, just leave it in the comments.
